Butterick 3543

This is Butterick 3543, the not-so-aptly named "Misses' shirt and embroidery transfer".  Butterick's description of this is so generic, I feel like it misses the mark on how ridiculously awesome this pattern is. I mean, A) it's a cowboy shirt, which seems to have been a thing in the 70's. Secondly, both girls on the envelope are wearing it with the collar popped, so it's not just *any* cowboy shirt. Thirdly, don't even try to tell me that the little redheaded girl on the right isn't Amy Pond.

...Also, ignore that I started this with an A, and ended it with "Thirdly".

Honestly, though, the real fun begins once you get to the back of the envelope.

"Obvious diagonal fabrics are not suitable.  Allowance for matching plaid and stripes not included in yardages given."

Can you even *imagine* a plaid cowboy shirt?
(Ok, I did just google "Plaid Cowboy Shirt" and what it came up with are just the annoying plaid button-downs that hipsters wear.  Which... don't look anything like whatever it was I was imagining in my mind.)

But it gets even better.

"Also Jersey for B" listed under suggested fabrics.  Yep.  I want a jersey cowboy shirt.  It's like a yoked, floppy-collared T-shirt.  That is literally what I imagine a jersey cowboy shirt to be.

For the record, I also googled "Jersey Cowboy Shirt" and just got a thousand pictures of Dallas Cowboys Jerseys.  So... Yeah.  Keep that horror in your mind.

Oh, and, in case you're new here (you are.  We're all new here.), this is the first post on Raven's Big Damn Pattern Blog.  Where I will subtly and lovingly ridicule most of the patterns that find their way into my tiny (tiiiiny) apartment.  Most of which will be for sale on my Etsy shop.

This pattern can be found HERE.
